What is Zinc Stearate?
Zinc stearate is a fine white powder made from zinc and stearic acid. It melts and spreads easily, so it works as an internal and external lubricant in plastic and rubber mixtures.
As a mould-release agent it prevents sticking; in PVC it supports stabilisation; in paints it aids sanding and gives a matt effect; and it is also used in cosmetics and powder metallurgy.
